About me

Building a career in Software Engineering

My Journey

My career began in manufacturing, where I spent seven years at Mercury Marine. During that time, I developed leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while serving as a Group Lead. I trained employees, collaborated with supervisors, supported production goals, and completed a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt project that improved workstation efficiency.

In 2023, I transitioned into enterprise information technology by joining Amcor. Since then, I have supported enterprise infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint administration, and technical operations. After approximately ten months, I was promoted to IT Support Specialist II, where I now support complex technical issues, automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell, deploy Windows endpoints, and assist Information Security Operations with endpoint investigations and remediation.

Working in enterprise IT strengthened my interest in building technology rather than simply supporting it. The projects I enjoyed most were those involving automation, scripting, and solving recurring problems through software. That realization motivated me to pursue a career in software engineering.

Current Focus

I’m currently focused on expanding my software engineering skills through my degree program while building practical experience in Java, Python, cloud technologies, automation, and modern development practices.

My current priorities include:

Looking ahead

My long-term objective is to build a career designing, developing, and maintaining software that solves meaningful business problems. I am particularly interested in software engineering, cloud technologies, DevOps, automation, and security because these disciplines work together to create reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems.

I believe the strongest engineers are lifelong learners. Technology is constantly evolving, and I enjoy the challenge of continually expanding my knowledge while improving my technical and professional skills.
